First Zoya Polishes

Hi guys!

As I mentioned in my previous post, my first Zoya polishes were arriving on Friday. They are so beautiful and applied very smoothly. One of my bottles came cracked, though. :(  I can't feel the crack on the outside though, so I think it should be okay. I ordered Kimmy, a bright shimmery red with gold shimmer intermixed. I also ordered Tiffany, which is a peachy pink shimmer. They're both gorgeous colors.

First up are the bottle pictures....

Kimmy, Tiffany

See the crack near the top of Tiffany. Boo :(

Close-up of the gold flecks. So pretty!

Here are the photos of the manicure I did using Kimmy. This is two coats of Kimmy with one coat of Seche Vite on top.

Outside, shade

Outside, sunlight.

I hope everyone enjoyed the pictures. I'm very pleased with these Zoya polishes. They also threw in a swatch plate of their new collection and a little booklet of all their colors, so I'm excited to order more. So, tell me, have you guys tried Zoya? And if so, which colors are your favorites?

Purple Dream

Hi guys! I love the way this came out. It's three coats of Essie Lilacism with one coat of Nfu-Oh 50 layered on top and then Seche Vite for my topcoat. The Essie color is quite sheer, but at three coats it evens out and becomes opaque. I love the way the blue flakies glow against the pastel background. Sorry if it's kind of hard to see the flakies in my pictures, but trust me, in real life it's AMAZING!

Also, my first Zoya polishes should be coming on Friday. I ordered them during their get 2 free bottles 2012 promotion. I'm so excited! I've never used Zoya before, but I've been dying to try them. My next post will showcase them.

Thanks for reading. On to the photos!

Gray Skies...Half Moon Mani

Hi guys!
Here is my first attempt at a half moon mani. It didn't come out as well as I would've hoped, but oh well, thought I should show it anyway. Oh, and please ignore the horrible dent I made in my ring finger. Oops!

For this I used Essie Lapis of Luxury and Sally Hansen Wet Cement. Because the blue is so sheer and you have to put on several coats for it to be opaque, I put Sinful Color's Snow Me White down first, which explains the white parts you can see in the photo. Also, sorry about the lighting! I'm going to work on it, I swear.

Catching up (part 2)....

Here's part 2 of my mani's from the past year.

(same as above, only taken inside)

Catching up... (pic heavy)

Hi guys! I have a lot of pictures I've taken of my mani's (and even pedi's!) over the past year, so I just thought I'd pick some of my favorites and post them all here as a starting point. I've gotten inspiration from other bloggers and I think you'll see some of that come through in my photos. Such as using something as simple as tape in my mani's that I learned from http://chloesnails.blogspot.com/. Her work is amazing and she's probably one of my favorite nail bloggers. Check her out!

Without further delay, let's go! Hope you like them! : )

Welcome!

Hello and welcome!

My name is Cassy and I wanted to start this blog to share my love of polish with others who feel the same way. I've been painting my nails on and off since I was a kid, but only up until a year ago, did it become what it has now...a full-fledged addiction and big source of happiness in my life. I love reading other nail blogs and see what other ladies come up with, and in turn getting inspired and the next thing I know, I'm setting up my little "polishing station" and gliding the lacquer on my nails with glee!

I hope you guys enjoy this little blog and stay tuned!
